3 arrested after attempted traffic stop on West Side

Incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Callaghan Rd

SAN ANTONIO – Three people have been arrested after a traffic stop turned into a chase overnight, San Antonio police said Monday.

The incident began around 1:30 a.m. when a SAPD officer attempted to pull over a stolen vehicle on Callaghan Road on the city's West Side.

According to police, the driver backed up and rammed the officer's car before driving off down Callahgan Road to Culebra Road. The driver then drove down West Laurel Street to a dead-end, before hitting a guardrail at the creek. That's when, police said, the four people inside the vehicle took off running.

Police said they arrested three of the suspects. The woman and two men now face charges which include felony assault on an officer.

The investigation is ongoing.
