The watchful eyes of an observant officer helped land two men and a woman in jail.

Around 1 a.m. Friday, the officer noticed three people sitting in a car parked in front of a strip mall at Callaghan and Babcock as he drove by, police said.

The officer approached their car and spotted a gun on the floorboard.

Two men and a woman were detained. A drug dog was called in and narcotics were found in the vehicle.

Police are investigating whether a big screen TV found in the car was stolen.

Police have not said what charges would be filed.
