Stabbings
SAN ANTONIO -

Three people were injured in separate stabbing incidents early Wednesday morning.

First, San Antonio police said two women were stabbed outside El Torreon, a restaurant in the 1500 block of Culebra.

A large brawl involving more than a dozen people led to the stabbings, police said.

Around 2 a.m., a man and his girlfriend went to the restaurant and ran into the family of his ex-girlfriend.

Police said the man's ex-girlfriend recently died, and her family was celebrating her life with drinks.

The man's girlfriend and his ex-girlfriend's family exchanged words, then, according to police, a fight broke out.

When police arrived on scene, several cars were leaving the parking lot. They believe some of the witnesses took the weapon with them. Neither victim is cooperating with their investigation, police said.

Man claims to have been slashed while asleep

A couple hours later, a man called 911 to report that he'd been stabbed inside his Northwest side apartment.

The victim told police that two men broke into his apartment at the Landmark at Medical Center, in the 7200 block of Snowden.

He said he was sleeping when the men put a bag over his head and cut his throat with a machete before stealing his wallet.

The man had a large cut on his neck, and was taken to University Hospital, where he underwent surgery, police said.

Police are questioning whether he was really sleeping, because they said he was fully clothed and wearing shoes. They also said the wallet that was supposedly stolen was still inside his apartment.
