Two men robbed the Lone Star Capital Bank at Weidner Road and Interstate 35 shortly after 2 p.m. Monday, police said.
One of the men was armed with a shotgun and cocked the weapon during the hold-up but did not point it directly at anyone, said SAPD Sgt. Daniel Alonzo.
"It appeared to be a 20-gauge," said John DeLoach, who was inside the bank during the robbery. "They told everybody to get on the floor."
The man who did not show a weapon demanded money from the teller and stuffed the cash in his pockets, said DeLoach.
The men then left the bank and ran across and empty parking lot a fueling station near the bank.
That's where police say a getaway at was waiting.
"A heavyset Hispanic woman with long hair was driving what's believed to be a white, four-door Ford Focus," said Alonzo. "The men got in the car and headed back toward I-35."
Police are reviewing surveillance video for information on the suspects.
DeLoach describes the suspects as around 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 185 pounds., wearing black hoodies, masks, baggy jeans and sunglasses.
