Suspects arrested in connection with Spring Branch mail carrier shooting go before judge

SAN ANTONIO – Three people accused in a crime spree, which police said included shooting a mail carrier, car chases and gunfire, appeared in federal court Thursday.

Bradley A'Hearn, Sara Richford and Piper Lee all made their initial appearances. The three face a variety of charges stemming from a five-day manhunt, which was kicked off by the shooting of a mail carrier in Spring Branch on Saturday.

The government is asking for all three of the accused to be detained pending trial. The judge will make his decision on that after their detention hearings on Feb. 21 for A'Hearn and Mar. 2 for Lee and Richford. Their preliminary examination hearings will take place on the same days.

The three have had criminal complaints filed against them, but have not yet been indicted.
