Investigators say a three-vehicle accident on a rain-slick highway in South Texas has left two adults and two children dead.
The Department of Public Safety says four other people were hurt in the wreck Tuesday afternoon near Hallettsville, about 90 miles east of San Antonio.
DPS on Wednesday identified the fatalities as 39-year-old Felipe Garcia of Brownsville, 42-year-old Christine Salazar of McAllen, 9-year-old Brandon Garcia of Brownsville and 10-year-old Anthony Garcia of Brownsville.
All were in an SUV, driven by Felipe Garcia, that went out of control and was hit by an 18-wheeler. DPS says the tractor-trailer rig then also hit a smaller SUV.
The trucker wasn't hurt. Four people in the smaller SUV suffered minor injuries.
DPS had no immediate information on the relationship of the Garcias.
