Child taken to hospital with minor injuries

BASTROP, Texas – Four people, including a child, were killed Saturday in an apartment complex shooting in Bastrop.

The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting took place at the Arbors at Bastrop Apartments in the 200 block of Childers Drive. It happened around 6 p.m.

Two women, one child and the gunman, who shot himself, are dead, deputies said.

Another child was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

“I hear the shots, three shots, going to my apartment. One broke my window and the other one is in the wall and the door and through my dishes. The bullet is in the kitchen,” said Marta Hernandez, a witness.

The shooter’s motive is still unknown. The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers will continue to investigate.
