SAN ANTONIO -

Four young men are in critical condition after crashing into a tree on the city's west side.

It happened just after 12 a.m. Sunday in the 2600 block of Gen. Hudnell Dri.

According to police, the car was traveling north when it missed a curve in the road and crashed head-on into a tree.

Four men were in the car, including the driver.

A witness was able to get the two backseat passengers out of the car.

The driver was pinned on top of the front seat passenger.

Two of the men were taken to SAMMC.

The other two men were taken to University Hospital.

All of them are in critical condition.

Police believe alcohol, speeding, and weather conditions were all factors in the crash.
