Police: Man Stabs Brother In Neck

Victim In Critical Condition

POSTED: Thursday, March 3, 2005

Police on Thursday are looking for a 35-year-old man in connection with the stabbing of his brother.

Eloy Ibarque, 25, is listed in critical condition at University Hospital with a stab wound to his neck.

After executing a warrant to search a home at 5723 Cedar Springs at 3 a.m., they found an 8-inch-long butcher knife, bloody footprints and a bag of marijuana.

Ibarque's father first took his son to Northeast Baptist Hospital, but the victim's wounds were so severe he had to be airlifted to University Hospital.

Police said they suspect the brothers had an argument before the stabbing.

A 911 dispatcher told police she heard cursing, dogs barking and someone complaining about a broken window while on the telephone with the caller.
