SAN ANTONIO -- A 19-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a shooting that wounded a 10-month-old baby and his teenage mother.
The apprehension of Joe Angel Garcia came hours after a judge issued attempted murder arrest warrants for him and Abraham Pagan, 25, and Andre Hernandez, 21.
Details of Garcia's arrest were not immediately available.
The whereabouts of Pagan and Hernandez are unknown and police consider the suspects armed and dangerous.
The baby, Jacob Valdez, remains in serious condition at Wilford Hall Medical Center after he was shot in the neck while he was being held by his mother, Beatrice Ledesma, who was also wounded. She was released from the hospital Monday. The two, along with a driver, were in a sport utility vehicle that was sprayed with bullets at a home in the 5900 block of Fairshire early Monday.
The SUV had gone to the home to pick up a man, who had gotten involved in an argument with a group of men.
Child Protective Services has taken custody of Valdez and will place him in a foster home when he is released from the hospital.
Anyone with information on the suspects is urged to call the SAPD Family Violence Unit at (210) 207-2313.
