UPDATED: 1:05 pm CDT August 27, 2005

Police are searching for a woman who they said robbed a northeast side pet store with a cup of bleach Friday night.

The woman hit a pet store near the intersection of Nacogdoches and O'Connor roads, police said.

The woman dressed in "Daisy Duke" shorts and camouflage walked into the store with a cup, police said. She told employees she wanted to buy a cat, and then told them she had a gun and threw the cup of bleach at the workers.

She took their keys and locked them in cages in the back of the store, police said. The woman left with money from the register, a kitten and a puppy.

According to witnesses, the woman was laughing hysterically as she got into a car that was waiting outside with a driver.

A woman fitting the description of the woman used a butcher knife and bleach to rob a Diamond Shamrock convenience store on Aug. 18, police said.

In that robbery, she threw bleach in the clerk's face, police said.

Police said the woman is also responsible for a third robbery earlier this week.

None of the people that had bleach thrown at them were seriously injured, police said.
