SAN ANTONIO – Fifty immigrants from 22 different countries were sworn in Friday as new American citizens at San Antonio's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office.
Some of the new citizens said they were most excited about being able to do things like vote and serve on a jury.

Special remarks were given by a 91-year-old Holocaust survivor from the Czech Republic who became a naturalized citizen earlier this week.
"It is very nice to live in a free country. No communists. No Nazis. No persecution and everyone is free," Lili Koppl de Kladensky said. "It's a big blessing."
She said she's been waiting nearly 70 years for this.
During fiscal year 2016, about 963,000 immigrants were naturalized nationwide.
