SAN ANTONIO -- A 25-year-old Boy Scout leader from Converse was being held in the Bexar County Jail on Tuesday in connection with sex crimes he allegedly committed against a 13-year-old member of his troop.
James Hiatt was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault with a minor. A magistrate set his bond at $100,000.
According to an arrest affidavit, Hiatt engaged the boy in numerous sex acts over a five-month period shortly after the boy joined the troop in June.
Hiatt, who is the leader of Boy Scout Troop 41, took nude photographs of the boy and showed him pornographic pictures and movies, the affidavit said.
The teen told law enforcement authorities that Hiatt was sexually involved with another 13-year-old boy from the troop, the affidavit said.
At least one other witness reported to investigators that she saw what appeared to be inappropriate conduct between Hiatt and the second 13-year-old boy, the affidavit said.
