Seven people, including three children, were hospitalized after the SUV they were riding in ran off the road just south of Hays County.

State troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety said the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on FM 32 near Canyon Lake High School.

The driver was headed northbound when the SUV crossed into the southbound lane and crashed into a wooded area.

All seven people inside the SUV were injured and taken to three different hospitals. Two were airlifted to University Hospital.

Troopers have not said what led to the crash. The accident remained under investigation Sunday evening.
