Ceremonies held at Cadena-Reeves Justice Center
In separate ceremonies, a total of seven judges who were elected last fall were sworn in during individual ceremonies Tuesday at the Cadena-Reeves Justice Center.
Taking the oath of office in district courts were Gloria Saldana, 438th District Court; Michael Mery, 37th District Court; Laura Salinas, 166th District Court; Ray Olivarri, 399th District Court; and Paul Canales, 73rd District Court.
Rebecca Martinez and Luz Elena Chapa were sworn in as justices on the Fourth Court of Appeals.
“I am very, very grateful for the opportunity that has been given to me and for all of the graces God has sent me,” said Judge Michael Mery.
Attending the ceremonies were several sitting district court judges, as well as family members and friends of the incoming judges.
