70-year-old Converse man accused of sexually assaulting 5-year-old girl

David Alan Watts is charged with super aggravated sexual assault

SAN ANTONIO – David Alan Watts, 70, is accused of sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl, possibly since the time she was a toddler.

Watts was arrested Wednesday on a charge of super aggravated sexual assault of a child, an enhanced charge reserved for cases where the victim is under the age of six.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the girl's mother filed a report with Converse police March 19, based on information she had been given by the child.

The affidavit said that the girl told her mother Watts had done "nasty things" to her. Upon further investigation, police said the child had been sexually abused.

The girl told her mother it happened on more than several times when she was left alone with Watts, possibly dating back to 2014, the affidavit said.

One some occasions, the five-year-old said Watts would force her to put on makeup and try to kiss her, the affidavit said.
