DALLAS (AP) — A 911 call reveals the frantic final minutes of a Dallas woman's life as she pleads with her attacker not to harm her.

The tape obtained Wednesday by WFAA-TV (http://bit.ly/109vB17 ) reveals 32-year-old Deanna Cook never spoke with a 911 dispatcher but can be heard in the background begging for her life.

Dallas police have declined to release the tape since the Aug. 17 murder of Cook. A copy was leaked to WFAA.

The urgency of the call was not relayed to police by the dispatcher. It wasn't until two days later that police forced entry into Cook's home after receiving a call from her family.

Her death prompted new procedures in responding to domestic disturbance calls.

Cook's former husband, Delvecchio Patrick, remains in custody on a murder charge.
