Veterinarian Charged With Child Sex Crime

POSTED: Thursday, June 1, 2006
UPDATED: 10:16 am CDT June 1, 2006

A 44-year-old San Antonio veterinarian was arrested and charged Wednesday with indecency with a child by contact.

According to an arrest affidavit, a boy, who is a relative of Dr. Scott Weeks, told a Child Protective Services investigator in April that Weeks had touched him inappropriately on a trip and that Weeks was "acting weird and began tickling him."

The affidavit also stated that the boy also "described other incidents which occurred" over the past two years.

When Weeks, who is the owner of Pet Medical Center of San Antonio at 7811 Mainland, was confronted by the boy about his actions, the boy said that Weeks "knew it was wrong, but could not stop himself from doing it," the affidavit stated.

According to the police detective who handled the case, he considers Weeks a threat since he has frequent contact with the public, including children.

Weeks was being held in the Bexar County Jail late Wednesday on $30,000 bail.
