In the civil complaint, Caballero -- who now lives in Florida after receiving political asylum in the United States -- says he was forced to flee his home country, abandoning property and businesses, and he wants those responsible to pay. The defendants are two guerrilla groups that have been at war with the Colombian government for decades: the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the National Liberation Army (ELN).
