A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with a fire set inside a Wagner High School boys bathroom. Jonathan Pacheco is charged with arson.
According to an arrest affidavit, witnesses claim they saw Pacheco and another person drag a metal trash can into one of the stalls in the bathroom on Monday May 14, and then ignite paper inside the can.
The two were later seen on surveillance video running from the restroom shortly before the first signs of smoke in the building.
The Bexar County Fire Marshal's Office said school staff identified the suspects in the video.
Judson police went to Pacheco's home and escorted him back to Wagner High School where he was questioned by school officials.
The affidavit stated Pacheco became irate when questioned and physically threatened the principal. He was escorted out and later arrested.
The affidavit stated 2,200 students were inside the school when the fire was set. No one was injured.
The affidavit did not say if the other suspect involved had been taken into custody.
