SAN ANTONIO -

The San Antonio Food Bank will be sending 200 boxes to families there. Thanks to amazing staff and volunteers, they managed to pull off the effort in less than 2 hours.

Yvette Roscoe is Food Bank Volunteer.

While packing food boxes Friday afternoon, she said, “it makes me feel really good. Anything I can do to help my community and anyone who is in need. I feel good about it.”

The San Antonio Food Bank was just one of several food banks across the state that got the call from the Texas Food Bank Network.

Food will be headed to West first thing in the morning from San Antonio. That food will hopefully nourish those displaced families in their time of need.

Erika Borrego, COO of the San Antonio Food Bank said, “We’re trying to help a family feed their children and themselves for about a week.” The truck carrying the 200 boxes to West will leave at 7 :00 a.m. Saturday.
