SAN ANTONIO -

MacArthur High School student Enzo Magnani, 17, is facing a robbery charge related to a purse snatching in Alamo Heights last month.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that a witness used a cell phone to take pictures of two teens running from the scene of the crime which helped police identify the suspects.

A man and woman told officers they were walking in the 200 block of Austin Highway Oct. 20 when two teens ran up behind them, knocked them to the ground and stole the woman’s purse, the affidavit stated.

Several people, including the person with the cell phone, witnessed the crime.

The affidavit stated that an officer with the Northeast Independent School District looked at the pictures and recognized one of the teens as a student who attends MacArthur High School. In the affidavit, police identified him as Ryan Tyron Franklin.

Detectives said they later interviewed Franklin and he told them Magnani took part in the robbery with him, the affidavit stated. A robbery charge was filed against Magnani Tuesday.
