Thousands gathered Friday for the start of San Antonio's 5th-annual SanJapan CosPlay Conference.
Attendees donned a wide array of colorful wigs and costumes, all from various movies, comics and cartoons.
Organizers said the conference has the largest turnout in its history, with around 8,500 people.
The conference lasts through the weekend at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
