Along with the times, pulling an April Fools' Day prank has evolved. Here are two apps you help you pull a simple, but easy prank on a friend.
The first can be used as a prank, or get you out of an awkward social situation. Fake-A-Call. You can make it look like anyone is calling your phone, from your boss to the President of the United States. You can also have audio recordings play in your ear, so it really sounds like you are talking to someone. You can even fake an outgoing call.
Fake-A-Call is free to download. It is available on the iPhone, Android and Blackberry phones. There is a premium version for 99 cents.
Next is a similar app for texting. You can create a fake text conversation between you and anyone you can think of, and show it off to your friends. PunkSMS will even let you prentend to text back and forth in real time. Before you show it off to your friends, you tell the app what you want it to say during your conversation. The app costs 99 cents and is available on the iPhone.
Finally, this app will turn your phone into a fake lie detector. Have your friends put their fingers on the screen, and the app will "tell" you how believable their statement is. It is all for fun, but you might be able to convince your friends that it really works. Lie Detector is a free download for the iPhone.
