NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -

New Braunfels police have obtained an arrest warrant for Leon Sneed, a former basketball coach at New Braunfels Christian Academy who is accused of having an improper relationship with a student.

School officials told police that Sneed may have been involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student during the latter part of last school year while he was coaching at the academy.

New Braunfels police detectives said that last Wednesday Sneed confessed that he did engage in a sexual relationship at least five or six times with a 17-year old female student who attended the academy.

Detectives said Sneed had agreed to turn himself in on Friday but has failed to do so. He is now considered a fugitive.

Sneed lives in San Antonio and is associated with various youth-related basketball organizations within the New Braunfels and San Antonio areas.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call the New Braunfels Police Department at 830-221-4100 or the Comal County Crime Stoppers at 830-620-TIPS (8477).
