An Atascosa man is facing a murder charge in connection with the shooting death of another man last month.

Bexar County sheriff’s investigators were called to the 13300 block of Finley Road on Dec. 30 after someone discovered the body of a man lying in the road.

They said they later learned the victim had been shot to death and identified him as Abraham Arteaga, 24.

An arrest affidavit stated after interviewing family members and witnesses, investigators learned that Arteaga had been to a house party the night before and had left the party with Matthew Martinez, 24, and another man.

They said their investigation also revealed Martinez shot and killed Arteaga after becoming upset with him, the affidavit stated.

Investigators said in the affidavit several witnesses told them Martinez admitted to killing Arteaga.

They said he also told those witnesses information that only the killer would know. Martinez was arrested Saturday on a charge of murder, the affidavit stated.
