SAN ANTONIO -

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office has released the name of a 7-month-old baby that died Monday morning at a home on the East Side.

The child's name was Jaden Contreras. The medical examiner has not released a cause for his death.

Paramedics received a call from the home in the 4000 block of Sun Harbour for unresponsive child at 9:35 a.m. They pronounced him dead shortly afterward.

According to a police report, the family lived in a garage attached to the house. Police said the garage does not have heating or air-conditioning, which is why Child Protective Services had been called out to the home before.

The baby was said to have a cold a couple of days before he died.

His death is being investigated as a homicide.

A spokesperson for Child Protective Services said they were also investigating and they had worked with the family before.
