SAN ANTONIO -

Bandera Road is now back open after felled power lines closed off access near the intersection of Seneca in Leon Valley.

CPS Energy spokesman Albert Cantu said a contracting crew were on site, stringing out transmission lines from Grissom Road to Bandera Road, when a transmission tower collapsed around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday blocking Bandera Road in both directions.

Power lines draped on the ground and over the bridge over Huebner Creek. Cantu said the lines were not live and no one was injured.

CPS Energy workers were scrambling to elevate the lines off the road and restore power to the area.

Cantu said two circuits were taken off-line, leaving about 6,000 people are without power.
