SAN ANTONIO -

An early morning shooting at a nightclub left one man in critical condition and neighbors in the area crying foul.

People who live near Endless Music said they're scared and frustrated.

Shirley Sharpsteen lives north of Loop 1604, on Redland Road, near Endless Music. She owns a business there, too.

But lately, Shirley said, Endless Music has been the source of endless problems.

"This has been going on for a while now," said Sharpsteen.

The latest problem happened early Friday morning. A fight broke out inside the strip club between a group of women, police said.

It got bad enough that the dance floor cleared out quickly, and the violence spilled out into the parking lot.

That's when someone fired 10 to 12 shots, hitting one man in the chest. The shots put him in the hospital in critical condition.

"It's very alarming, the gunfire going off in the middle of the night," said Sharpsteen.

And she said it's not the first shots she's heard. She wants the club shut down, saying it attracts rough-and-tumble types, making the neighborhood unsafe.

"We have to do something, this is our property on Redland Road," said Sharpsteen. "It affects our values, and it affects the way what we live here."

Sharpsteen said she's made plenty of calls and sent several emails here to her city councilwoman, Elisa Chan, but has yet to hear back.
