A bicyclist was struck and killed by a train after he reportedly stopped on the railroad tracks, San Antonio police said.

The bicyclist, identified as 25-year-old Robert Guerra, was riding on the tracks near South Flores and Lachapelle around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

According to an SAPD press release, Guerra was riding his bicycle south on S Flores and stopped to wait on a westbound train.

He then stopped on S Flores on the eastbound  tracks and was struck by an oncoming train, the release stated.

Investigators also believe Guerra went around the downed crossing arms before the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
