A skidding big rig flipped on a highway exit ramp causing its load to spill and the roadway to be shut down for hours.

The truck overturned on the Loop $10 exit ramp to Dietrich Rd. on the eastside just after 2 a.m. Saturday.

The rig driver told police the truck hydroplaned as he took the exit to Dietrich Rd.

He told police he tried to right the rig but couldn't, and it flipped.

Police say the truck carried supplies for Burger King restaurants.

Emergency crews shut a section of the road down for several hours while they cleared the truck and cleaned the mess.

The rig driver was not injured.
