Bikers delivering gifts struck by car
A hit-and-run sent two motorcyclists, who were out delivering gifts to foster kids on Tuesday, to the hospital.
But even that didn't stop their group from making Christmas Day a little brighter for some less fortunate kids.
Albert Gonzales, along with his fellow motorcyclists with For His Glory Ministries, got up bright and early Christmas morning to deliver gifts to children with eight San Antonio foster families.
But they quickly realized the occupational hazard of playing Santa when two motorcyclists in their group got into a wreck.
Gonzales said a car turned into the riders at an intersection. They both swerved to miss the car but overcorrected and crashed.
The driver of the car did not stop to help, but fled the scene, Gonzales said.
Unsure how their buddies were doing, Gonzales and his fellow riders made the difficult decision to finish their toy run.
"We're going to finish the run and we have three more families to deliver to. And we're going to finish this off and make Christmas what it started out to be: a good day," Gonzales said.
The two riders involved in the crash were both expected to be OK.
