The Alamodome is a sea of boats this weekend, featuring luxury models to float any lake enthusiast's boat.
The San Antonio Boat and Travel Trailer Show opened its doors Thursday and runs through Sunday. Tickets are $8 general admission. Seniors and children ages 7 through 12 are $4 and children 6 and under get in free.
"There's some nice toys out here -- beautiful stuff out here," said Randy Gaines, one of the first to tour the show.
What's big in boats? Pontoons, according to Buzz Watkins with Sail and Ski Center.
"You can get so much boat," he said. "They can do water sports. You can fish off them and they hold a lot of people."
The show features the latest in ski boats, fishing boats, jet skiis, fishing rods and reels. For land lovers, the show features a wide range of pop-ups for beginning campers to luxury fifth-wheels.
The latest trend in outdoor leisure purchases, according to dealers, is family.
"Whereas before it was couples, now it's families coming together and going to campgrounds," said Doug Appleman, with Crestview RV Superstore.
Watkins said the boat industry is also seeing more people buying for family fun.
"They're not taking as many vacations," he said. "Instead, they are investing their money in something they can enjoy all year."
The show runs until 9pm Thursday, Friday noon to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
