Body found at home in 200 block of Paschal
Victim found underneath home; police investigating death as homicide
San Antonio police are investigating what they believe to be a murder after the body of a woman was found underneath a house in the 200 block of Paschal.
Chief William McManus said it's too early to determine the cause of death.
However, McManus did say detectives came out to the 200 block of Paschal based on some information they had received from a family who had filed a missing persons report for a woman in her 50s.
"This started out as a missing persons investigation," said McManus. "And during the course of the investigation, we were led here about a body that was somewhere in this immediate area."
McManus said while they have not determined the cause of death, it appears the body has been at that same location for several weeks.
Some neighbors who did not want to be identified said police had been out in the area last week and that they had also checked another house, close to the 200 block of Paschal.
"Based on information that (investigators) received, they were drawn here," said McManus. "And after coming back three or free times, they made their way to the bottom of this house."
