Breast cancer symposium draws thousands to Alamo City

The 35th-annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium got underway Tuesday at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
The event, which is the largest of its kind worldwide, is coordinated by the American Association of Cancer Research, UT Health Science Center and Baylor College of Medicine.
The symposium draws thousands of breast cancer doctors, advocates and researchers to educational presentations, Q&A sessions and seminars where the latest in cancer research is revealed.
The results of several groundbreaking studies are expected to be unveiled during the symposium, which runs through Saturday at the Convention Center.
