Burn ban lifted in Bexar County
Ban was in effect since December
Bexar County commissioners on Tuesday lifted a ban on outdoor burning in unincorporated Bexar County.
Interim Fire Marshal Craig Roberts told the court the recent rain has dropped the county's drought index to a safe level, and with more rain in the forecast, it made sense to ed the ban.
"That said, residents still should take daily weather conditions into consideration before burning outside," Roberts said. "On days when the humidity is low and the wind speed is greater than 10 miles per hour, a fire danger still exists."
The most recent burn ban was put in place in December. It was scheduled to expire March 5.
