SAN ANTONIO -

Two men walking together on the city’s east side began arguing when one of them stabbed the other around 5 pm Wednesday, said SAPD Sgt. Brian Custard.

The 26-year-old man stabbed the 23-year-old man at the corner of Price and East Carson Street.

A bystander pulled out a gun and pointed it in the air when he witnessed the attack.

“A witness fired off a round and told the guy with the knife to stop and the guy with the knife fled and got a ride and was dropped off somewhere else,” said Custard.

Police say the man’s girlfriend, who lives down the block from the attack, gave him the ride.

Police searched by helicopter to find the suspect, but were unsuccessful.

Then shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday, the man turned himself in to police. He is expected to be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim was taken to SAMMC with one stab wound to the chest. He is expected to recover, according to police.
