CPS: Medical Center area without power

CPS Energy is reporting a large power outage on the Northwest side.

Close to 49 buildings in the Medical Center -- off of Hamilton Wolff Road -- were without power Wednesday afternoon.

A contractor apparently hit an underground cable late Wednesday afternoon, prompting the outage.

CPS Energy said it could take up to three hours to fix the problem.
