DALLAS (AP) — A 3-year-old boy has died after he was found unconscious in a sweltering van outside a Dallas daycare center.

The child was discovered just after 5 p.m. Friday outside Little T's Tiny Tot daycare center in the Pleasant Grove district of southeastern Dallas.

Police Lt. Scott Walton said the child was taken to Baylor University Medical Center, where he was declared dead.

Walton says investigators are still trying to determine how the child came to be in the van. The National Weather Service reports the high temperature in Dallas Friday was 105 degrees.
