CONVERSE, Texas -

A boy in Converse was taken to a hospital by medical helicopter Friday morning after he was hit by a car while riding his bike.

Officials said the accident happened around 8 a.m. on FM 78 near Judson High School.

An administrator with the Judson Independent School District said a district employee was driving her car to work when she said the boy -- a Judson Middle School student -- came out of nowhere.

According to a JISD spokesman, the boy was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center, and is listed in good condition.

He was knocked out at the scene, so an MRI was performed. The spokesman said he suffered a few facial abrasions.

He will be kept overnight for observation.

The Judson employee also had to be taken to a hospital because she was so shaken by the accident.
