Christopher Bane, 42, faces a charge of making a terroristic threat after police said he threatened to shoot worshipers at a mosque in the medical center area.
A witness contacted San Antonio police on Nov. 6 after Bane told him he planned to use a .45 caliber handgun to shoot “as many people as possible” at the Islamic center, then kill himself, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
The affidavit stated that Bane also told the witness he had a gun and ammunition.
The affidavit stated that police identified his intended target as the Islamic Academy of San Antonio, which is located on Fairhaven Street in the medical center area.
Officers assigned to the San Antonio Regional Intelligence Center contacted a member of the mosque who promised to pass on the warning to other members and post notices about the threat, the affidavit stated.
Bane was arrested without incident Tuesday.
