Cibolo BBQ restaurant ready to re-open
Harmon's BBQ reopens 3 weeks after fire
It is one of the most popular restaurants in the local area, Harmon's BBQ, in Cibolo.
Last month, the eatery suffered severe damage from flames and smoke after a fire started due to an electrical problem.
In about three weeks, the restaurant is ready to reopen for lunch.
"We knew we were going to stay in Cibolo. We belong in Cibolo," said Ron Ruiz, co-owner.
The fire also caused damage to the Wise Choice jewelery store next door. The store was full of smoke and soot. It took three weeks to clean up the store and Wise lost some valuable selling days, but the owner said she is optimistic about the holidays.
"We have Christmas to hopefully get there," said Jill Wise.
Harmon's will be using a side room for now, until their main dining room and kitchen is re-done.
The menu will stay the same, although they will cut back on a few sides for a week or so.
The good news: they are back open just in time for the holidays -- and the Steele Knights championship game Saturday.
