Kendall County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a man in Centerpoint Monday in connection with the beating death of a man in Comfort.
Santos Correa Duran, 49, was arrested and charged with murder, after an 18-hour manhunt that involved U.S. Marshalls and Texas Rangers, said Lt. Shad Pritchard.
Pritchard said Duran and the victim, 30-year-old Alejandro Sanchez Morales, appear to have been drinking early Monday morning, and got into an argument that ended violently.
Pritchard said Morales’ cousin found him outside his trailer in the 100 block of Ranch-to-Market Road 473, with severe head injuries. Morales was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pritchard said several interviews established Duran as the suspect.
Investigators tracked him to a location in Centerpoint using his cell phone records.
Duran was booked into the Kendall County Jail. His bond was set at $200,000.
