Conviction of child trafficker upheld
Prosecutors: Juan Moreno kidnapped, raped 13-year-old girl
The Fourth Court of Appeals upheld the conviction of a child trafficker.
The announcement came Wednesday from Bexar County District Attorney Susan Reed.
Juan Moreno was convicted of trafficking of persons, aggravated sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping, and compelling prostitution in 2010.
According to court documents, Moreno, 47, kidnapped a 13-year-old girl and kept her for two week. During that time, he tied her to a bed, hit her, gave her drugs, and raped her.
Court documents also showed Moreno allowed other men to rape the girl in exchange for money.
Moreno was given life in prison for each count.
