Cooler air on the way this weekend for San Antonio area

Cold front expected to arrive in San Antonio area late afternoon, early evening Saturday; Temps expected to drop into 50s

SAN ANTONIO -

This season’s first true cold front will be pushing through the San Antonio area this weekend, bringing with it cooler temperatures.

The cold front was located in North Texas as of Friday afternoon.

The latest data as of 5 p.m. on Friday shows that the front will arrive in the Hill Country at or shortly after midnight.

It will push through San Antonio around daybreak.

Temperatures won’t immediately fall until around noon.

We will peak out in the low 80s here in San Antonio. Low temperatures on Sunday morning will be around 50 degrees here in San Antonio, with 40s in the Hill Country.

On Sunday, highs are expected to be in the 60s.

We’ll have an overrunning pattern, which means it will be cloudy with a chance of sprinkles or light rain across the area.

We’re not expecting any significant amount of rain.

Sunshine will return on Monday.
