A worker was killed after a crane collapsed in Conroe. Police said the accident happened on Interstate 45 near Highway 242 about 10 a.m. Thursday.
Construction crews are rebuilding a store that was destroyed in a massive fire in October.
The crane was hoisting a wall of the store when the accident happened. Police said the man's body was trapped under the crane.
The cause of the crane collapse is under investigation. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is involved.
The company operating the crane, Big Four Erectors, declined to comment.
