SAN ANTONIO -

The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department officials announced Thursday that the park curfew will be lifted at selected city parks for the Easter holiday.

The department says the park curfew will be lifted beginning at 11 pm on Thursday, March 28 and will resume at 11 pm on Easter Sunday, March 31.

In addition, the department would like to remind citizens that recycling bins are available in the parks and should be used for plastic bottles and cans.

No glass containers are allowed. The department says food-contaminated waste should be disposed of in trash cans.

"If everyone does their part to ensure our parks remain clean by properly disposing of litter and recyclables, this easy step not only protects the environment but contributes to everyone’s experience being that much more enjoyable," said Parks and Recreation Director Xavier Urrutia.

Citizens will be allowed to camp overnight at these parks:

According to the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department, the exemption does not affect the youth curfew, which will remain in effect.
