SAN ANTONIO -

Curfew at select San Antonio parks will be lifted Thursday night until Easter Sunday, Parks and Recreation officials announced.

The department says the park curfew will be lifted beginning at 11 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, and will resume at 11 p.m. on Easter Sunday, March 31.

Some campers were already marking spots on trees and setting up tents by Thursday morning.

"This is our first year doing this, and it's exciting. We picked this location, because I like the river back there, and there's like a little trail for the kids," one camper said. "We figured we might as well try it here, and see if we like camping before we actually go to a primitive site and actually do it."

In addition, the department would like to remind citizens that recycling bins are available in the parks and should be used for plastic bottles and cans.

No glass containers are allowed. The department says food-contaminated waste should be disposed of in trash cans.

Citizens will be allowed to camp overnight at these parks:

According to the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department, the exemption does not affect the youth curfew, which will remain in effect.
