Consumer Reports tests dishwasher additives

Consumer Reports tested a few dishwasher additives to see which ones can leave clear dishware and glasses sparkling clear.
In hard water, glassware is more likely to become cloudy and filmy now that polluting phosphates have been banned from detergents.
Consumer Reports found Finish Power Up worked best by putting it directly into the machine, rather than the prewash dispenser. The dispenser did not hold enough.
It took two cycles for Glisten Dishwasher Cleaner and Hardspot Remover to remove the residue, but it worked.
Lemi-Shine Original also worked, and because it costs the least, it was named the best buy.
