A far Northeast Side family says their three dogs helped save them from a fire early Tuesday morning.
Flames broke out in the attached garage of a home in the 5200 block of Charolais around 2:30 a.m.
The family's three dogs, who normally sleep outside, were inside due to the heat. But family members say they started barking and woke them.
Fire crews arrived and were able to put out the flames in the garage quickly before the fire spread into the main part of the home. Damage estimates or a cause of the fire have not been released.
